Lighty — The no–nonsense flashlight app App Reviews

Over the years Ive had several flashlight apps for my iPhone. Every one of them tried to outdo the others in adding features and functions, making each one more complicated than the rest, and more than I needed. All I wanted was to be able to open the app, have a flashlight come on, then close the app when done. No strobes, no morse codes, no note-taking features (yes, one I tried even had that), no bells, no whistles. Just a light. How tough could that be? Well, apparently very tough. Glad I found this one.

Had plenty of flashlight apps, free and paid, none better than this, no stupid strobe effects that you can "accidentally tap", clean visuals, perfect!

Just downloaded this to replace another flashlight app and I must say, this is the simplest and best flashlight app ever. No "extra" features to worry about just a simple button.

Call me crazy, but I paid for my flashlight app. “Lighty” is the only in the App Store —free or paid— that actually works well. Don’t waste your money on other paid flashlight apps. Don’t waste your time with free flashlight apps. This is the flashlight app you need. It actually works. Remarkable.

Seriously, so many flashlight apps are filled with junk. The best app is the most simplistic. The double tap to switch to white is nice but thats about as much I want out of an app - dont change anything! Great as is. If people want strobes and ads and all kinds of junk, there are plenty of free apps like that out there.

Hands down the best flashlight app in the AppStore period!

I was willing to pay for, simply, a great light, BUT, with NO ads. I know there are dozens of flashlights out there, but LIGHTY is for you of you want a clean, simple light, and you do not want the distraction of ads jumping around at you. Frankly, Id have paid more for Lighty. There are purposes for some features (as my daughter needed a red light for her college class). But, mostly, I need reliable and adfree.

Update 2: I just discovered a new favorite flashlight app, Lumee. Its not no-nonsense like Lighty, but I like it for its quirkiness and it has a click sound that Lighty never has. What am I gonna do with two flashlight apps? But theyre both great. Update: This app now sits proudly on my home screen. Simple and elegant. Though as with my previous review, please tone down the light so its not so bright and make clicking sound for the button. Original: Im not regretting buying this app go $1, but I just wish a few expected touches were included. 1. Sound feedback. Please provides a click when pressing the button. It is satisfying to hear you click being registered. 2. Tone down the light theme. The light theme is too white. Please tone it down a bit to save battery and shows the fine lines. Right now its so bright that cant tell any separation between the button and the background.
